Just when the lovely, lonely brick office block at the end of Clay Avenue seemed doomed, help beamed down from Dimension X. Dimension X is a national advertising agency that started out in a Murrysville industrial park, but recently moved into the 77-year-old, long-empty Jeannette Glass headquarters building. "We love the site, we love the building, it's so full of character," said co-owner Norman Wright, a Plum resident. "We'd been looking around for a cool-looking place for about four years, and this building's always caught my eye. When we learned it was for sale, there was no question!" The 12-person agency poured $350,000 into the purchase and building renovations and moved in a week ago. "We deal with national clients, so our distance from Pittsburgh wasn't a problem. In Jeannette, with so much going on, we're positioned well to be part of the local growth. We see a committed city council with some powerful plans in place, and a respectable business climate. ... Aside from that, look at this building. If we'd found something like it in Monroeville, it would be $1 million." Mr. Wright said his business specializes in "branding," establishing an identity and clear-cut goals for businesses and institutions. He hopes to help downtown Jeannette brand itself in the near future. "This city has a strong heart, skilled people, land and location. It's a great place to grow," he said. "And when the town takes off, we're right here in the middle of it all."
